20 Embarrassing Things Toddlers Have Said Out Loud In Public

20. Taken By A Stranger

Everyone can remember at least one time an embarrassing thing that he said out loud in public. Toddlers don’t put a lot of thought on what they say, and if something triggers their curiosity, get ready to be showered with numerous questions that will probably make feel really uncomfortable, especially if you are in a public place. However, when you overcome the embarrassment, you end up laughing and having great stories to tell for the future. So here we gathered some incidents with toddlers from Reddit that will make even you to feel uncomfortable!

A father, was shopping with his four year old son, when he started misbehaving. His father warned the toddler that they would leave the store if he didn’t act properly. However, the toddler continued misbehaving and his dad picked him up in order to leave. That’s when the little kid started screaming, “Hey mister, put me down!” So the dad didn’t make any eye contact with anyone and he just left the store! The next story will make you laugh really hard!

19. Going For Shopping

U/cannibaldolphin learnt pretty early how hard is going for shopping with a toddler, as her sister was a really demanding toddler! “If she didn’t get what she wanted she would yell “die, die, DIE!” and people would look at us like we’re some kind of psychopaths. Phonetically, “die” is how you say “give” in Russian; our home language.” u/cannibaldolphin wrote. Wait to see the next story! You would never expect what happened!

18. A Socking Answer

A father along with his daughter, really enjoyed running away from his wife, while she was shopping. It was their game. However, when one time they had gone fare away from his wife, he asked his daughter what would she like them to do now that her mom wasn’t there. Her answer was pretty socking! “We can punch a stranger!” she shouted!

17. A Cute Compliment

A user wrote about a really cute incident that happened to him! “When I had a mo-hawk, a little boy once pointed to me and said “dinosaur!”. That was the best compliment I’ve ever received,” u/Ziggy.purrdust confessed on Reddit.

16. “You Are Not My Dad”

Another user also wrote about his experience on shopping with toddlers.  “My niece did this to her dad one day. He put her on his shoulders to get out of a store and she spent the time yelling at him, “Put me down, you’re not my Daddy, put me down!” He had the other kids following him out of the store laughing so I assume that’s the reason nobody stopped him,”u/AlaeniaFeild wrote.

15. Misunderstood

Sometimes, kids can’t understand the meaning of a metaphor. That’s the case for  u/Thisguysciences, who shared his own experience. “My wife had my 3 year old at the park one day. She decided to pick up some litter to make the park look nicer so she was throwing away pop bottles, chip bags etc and he wanted to help. He stoops to pick up some cigarette butts and my wife says leave those to mommy (she wasn’t going to pick them up but didn’t want him to touch them either). A few minutes later he has gone to play. He tells another mom, “I’m finding cigarettes for mommy”, he said.

14. “All Done! Bye”

“My daughter is 16 months. When she is done interacting with someone she will dismissively wave her hand and say “All done! Bye!” My wife doesn’t like it but I think it’s funny and a total power move,” u/cybermericorp shared with the world of Reddit proudly.

13. Harsh

Even though kids don’t want to hurt you, sometimes they might say something to you, without a “filter” that it can be really harsh. A really good example is the story of  u/notmax. “Not me but my midwife. Pregnant with second child, three year old daughter asks why mummy’s belly is so big. She’s told there’s a baby in there. She turns to daddy and asks “do you have a baby in there too?” Dad replies gently “No, I’m just fat!” A few days later in the checkout line and there’s a very large lady behind them in the line. The little girl asks the lady “Do you have a baby in your tummy like my mummy?” The lady is kind and just says no she doesn’t, to which the girl responds “oh just fat then?”, he wrote.

12. Die?

Many toddlers struggle with the alphabet and sometimes they can’t pronounce things the right way. Just like u/tc3590’s son, who can’t pronounce the letter “B”  so he ends up saying “OK, Die” to people.

11. Looking Pregnant

That’s another example that kids don’t think too much before they speak and that they can’t understand what things can hurt people. “One kid asked our teacher who recently gave birth if she got pregnant again because he thought she looked pregnant again,” u/Try2RememberPassword wrote on Reddit.

10. Happy Ending

This little kid was testing his mother’s nerves with what he was saying, but at least there was a happy ending. “There is a man who lives in our village with no arms, Mr M. His children attended my son’s nursery so he has met him many times. We were in a packed doctors waiting room one day and Mr M came in. Son, at full volume: Look mummy! There’s Mr M that I told you about. He has no arms!” u/RainingBlood398 wrote.

9. Really Embarrassed

This is a really embarrassing story, u/twillsteele had to go through. “My son came home from kindergarten with his backpack full of canned food. When pressed about the issue he confidently stated that he had told the teacher he was hungry and we didn’t have any food at home! They had sent him home with the donations for those in need!! We got him to return the food the next day… Its a funny story we tell now but talk about embarrassed!!!” the user wrote.

8. The F-Word

Many kids are not allowed to say certain words and it is really funny how they make up words in order to replace them! “My nephews: “Joe, you said the f-word!” “No I didn’t!” “Yes you did! You’re supposed to say ‘passed gas’!” , u/kapntoad wrote.

7. A Spontaneous Reaction

Kids can really embarrass you in public due to their spontaneity and there is nothing you can do about it. “Not a parent but when my family and I were on vacation in Yellowstone/Custers Last Stand there was a Native American man dressed as a warrior doing a photo shoot. My little brother about 3 at the time yells out loud DAD THERES STILL ONE LEFT! The man was a good sport and started laughing. Even got a picture with him later in the day.” u/loganhoppe wrote on Reddit.

6. Some Wine?

Imaging having a great time with your friends and your kid until being accused as an alcoholic. “I was with a group of friends and was asked if I drink. I said I don’t really, and my daughter said “but mom, you drink all the time.” She had no idea the difference between drinking alcohol and drinking everything else,”u/TishraDR confessed on Reddit.

5. Are You My Dad?

A kid’s dad, had gone away for the military and it seemed that the two-year-old really missed him as he would call any man “dad”. So when he went to Boston Market with his mother, suddenly he called a man “daddy” and he hugged him. Luckily, the man just hugged him and said “I’m not you’re dad but hey buddy!”

4. Unbelievable

Here is the unbelievable story of  u/Sundaydinobot1’s sister that will make even you feel uncomfortable. “This happened back in the seventies and she was about three years old. My mom tells this story all the time. She and my mom were in a very long line for the restroom. There was a lady a few people in front of them who was over 300 lbs. My sister yells “Mom! Isn’t that the fattest lady you’ve ever seen?” Other people in line were doing their best not to laugh and my mom is horribly embarrassed. And then my sister looks at her and asks “Isn’t she the fattest lady you’ve ever seen?” My mom had enough and took my sister out of the line and walked away,” the user wrote.

3. Church Service Gone Wrong

This church service didn’t go as well as it was expected for this family. “My youngest sibling is 10+ years my junior, so I grew up with him embarrassing me in public. The worst was around Christmas one year when we went to Walmart after going to a church service. The service was about the virgin birth and how no other virgin had ever had a baby before. My brother was probably about 4-5 at the time, so while he didn’t know exactly what made someone a virgin, that service taught him virgins couldn’t have babies. Anyway, we’re in the check out line and behind us is a woman who is obviously pregnant. My brother points to her and says very loudly, “Look, that lady isn’t a virgin”!”u/nuggetblaster69 wrote.

2. Breaking The Law

That’s a confession of the child itself and it seems that u/heart-cooks-brain was regret it! “When my mom was pulled over once, I told the cop from the back seat “she’s drinking and driving too!” I’d been harping on her about that and she continued to tell me they meant alcohol, not soda, but I didn’t believe her for some reason. My mom gave the cop a very flat, frustrated “it’s Dr. Pepper.” The cop laughed, thank goodness,” the user wrote.

1. Just A Cold Beer

Last but not least, here is another confession of a child that will make you laugh your heart out! “When I was little (under 5) my dad would jokingly ask if I wanted a cold beer. I would always respond with “no.” Until one day when we were in the grocery store, he asked if I wanted anything, to which I replied: “a cold beer” while we were standing in line,” u/foshjowler wrote.
