Conservative: Mesa, Arizona
In today’s day and age, to say that we’re living in a politically charged climate would be an understatement. Our news, neighborhood banter, and dinner-table conversations have brought people’s political ideologies and beliefs to the center of many conversations.
The 2020 election was without a doubt one of the most historic and emotional votes in our country’s history, and only further highlighted the growing disparity between the vantage points of conservatives and liberals, and the direction that each side believes the country should be taking.
Even prior to the election, however, we’d begun to see a substantial re-organization of our country’s population. Many people chose to move away from larger cities, in favor of more removed, rural living experiences. Others took advantage of the reduced cost of living in the cities that people are exiling from, and moved into the center of all the action. And in many ways, the political leanings of a town played a role in helping people to decide where to move.
If you’re considering picking up and moving, it makes sense that you might want to know the ideologies of your potential future neighbors. With the luxury of now being able to reflect on the voting results of the 2020 election, combined with historical US census data, these are the political leanings of various move-worthy towns and cities across America. And just a heads up: some of these will catch you off-guard…
Liberal: Virginia Beach, Virginia
Mesa is located about 20 miles east of Phoenix in the Phoenix metro area. It’s bordered by Tempe, Apache Junction, and Gilbert, making this one of the largest metropolitan areas in Arizona. According to a 2023 census statistic, Mesa is one of the largest suburban cities in the United States, with almost 520,000 citizens living and working in the area.
With a neck and neck race going for the title of U.S. CEO, one hundred percent of precincts reported only a .3 percent lead by the Democratic party this time around. Perhaps it’s time for a rematch.
Conservative: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Virginia Beach is the largest city in Virginia, and home to resorts, beaches, and an enviable oceanfront that draws thousands of people each year. The residents who live and work in this progressive city favor sand, surf, sun, and Democratic policy. Nearly 500,000 live and work in this southern oasis, participating in industries like real estate, defense, and tourism that puts the city on the map.
Although Virginia was a close one, Virginia Beach residents participated in a valiant effort to move their city closer to Democratic influence. 44 percent of the vote was not enough to turn this state blue in the 2020 election, yet Virginia Beach residents may continue employing future efforts to swing the state.
Liberal: Chicago, Illinois
Oklahoma City is the capital of Oklahoma, with a ranking of the 25th largest city in the United States. The oil, natural gas, and livestock industries are its claims to fame and the reason for explosive growth shortly after its inception, and it continues to thrive as a southern city with a high standard of living, lovely nightlife, and amazing cultural opportunities.
Republican leanings are strong in this area of the country, with over 66 percent of registered voters choosing to vote Republican this past November. With a preference this strong, it’s unlikely that the city’s residents will deviate from this in subsequent elections.
Conservative: Colorado Springs, Colorado
Chicago Illinois, or the Windy City, as some refer to it, is home to nearly 3 million residents, according to recent census reports. Situated along the banks of Lake Michigan, it’s the largest city in the Midwest and a major economic and industrial hub for the entire area. Loyal residents attest to plenty of career opportunity, sizzling nightlife, and an abundance of art, music and culture to keep the most discriminating individual satisfied.
With so much of Illinois claiming Chicago’s greater metropolitan area as their home, it’s easy to see how this state was swung in our recent election. Conservative may have been more prevalent in outlying areas of the state, but thanks to the densely populated areas of Illinois including Chicago, the Democrats took the state with little effort.
Liberal: St. Paul, Minnesota
Colorado Springs is the second most densely populated area in Colorado, running behind Denver. This beautiful, scenic town sits at the base of Pikes Peak, which sits on the Eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains. Everything from economic opportunities to schools to beautiful scenery and hopping nightlife have placed this city on the list of 100 best places to live in the United States.
Another close race, this conservative town leaned toward the blue this time, with 55 percent of the votes going to the Democratic party. Better luck next time, Colorado Springs. Perhaps next election you’ll have the opportunity to represent the majority.
Conservative: Jacksonville, Florida
The smaller sister of the Twin Cities, St. Paul is the capital of Minnesota and home to many devoted Democratic policies and programs that color the city’s climate. Scenic beauty, solid midwestern values, and strong community relationships inspire residents and visitors alike to spend as much time here as possible.
St. Paul followed the lead of sister city Minneapolis when it came to political persuasion. The Twin Cities both voted Democrat in this last election, and strong opinions and stronger coffee no doubt fueled a loyal showing at the polls on November 3rd.
Liberal: Austin, Texas
Jacksonville has gained much area and growth through consolidation; several large towns have combined to become the city that we know to be Jacksonville’s metropolitan area today. Settled on the banks of the St. John river, it’s become a major port for trade and military activity in the deep South, and it has become a booming economic area with opportunity for industry to grow.
Conservative they were, and conservative they stand–the citizens of Jacksonville pulled ahead with 57 percent of the vote in this last election. It’ll be interesting to see how their population continues to evolve as our society weathers the changes that will inevitably come from this politically charged time.
Conservative: Arlington, Texas
Austin is the capital city of Texas, as well as the county seat of Travis county. This booming city has experienced an 80 percent surge in growth since the year 2000, and with more residents joining the political climate and values that the city embodies, it’s easy to see that they are a formidable presence in any movement.
Here we are again; in a state that usually screams conservatism, Austin residents remained loyal to their core values, and they showed up big for Biden and his team this past November. How will Austin’s political climate affect outer Texas in subsequent elections? Stay tuned for more news from our friends to the south.
Liberal: St. Louis, Missouri
European settlement into the Arlington area dates back to the 1840’s, and this metropolis has been growing steadily since then. Part of the Arlington/Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area, it’s home to major medical research facilities, cutting edge sports arenas, and municipal offerings that make it a wonderful place to live.
Arlington residents remain loyal to their conservative roots, with nearly 52 percent of constituents voting Republican in this last election. Adherence to American traditions, strong core values, and loyalty to our country are pervading themes in this area of the state.
Conservative: Anaheim, California
St. Louis was founded in 1764 by French fur traders Gilbert Antoine, Pierre Laclede, and Auguste Chouteau. Fortune 500 companies and major educational institutions make their home in this city along the river, and with it they bring plenty of opportunity, diversity, and culture that residents celebrate.
Amidst the red of the rest of the state, St. Louis residents pushed back with their loyal support of the Democratic vote. Industry and innovation help inspire progressive views, and the residents of St. Louis showed up and represented well on election day.
Liberal: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Anaheim was founded in 1857 by fifty German families who fell in love with the terrain and the climate of southern California. This fringe city has a claim on several Disney resorts and hotels; a number of industry and business opportunities, as well as some beautiful scenery make Anaheim a very attractive place for up and coming families.
Anaheim turned tables this past November and came in with 53 percent of their votes for the Democrats, which is a surprising statistic when given their conservative makeup and past voting history. It’ll be interesting to see where this population goes with their political loyalties in the years to come.
Conservative: Omaha, Nebraska
Philly has been the financial, industrial, and cultural hub of the Delaware valley since the 1800s. A population of nearly 7 million people celebrate the “city of brotherly love” by continuing to foster traditions of history, culture, and community that Philadelphia is known for.
In keeping with many other urban areas on this list, Philadelphia helped flip the state of Pennsylvania toward the Democratic vote, and this is good news for city residents that showed up in a display of patriotic unity on election day.
Liberal: New Orleans, Louisiana
The seat of Douglas County, Omaha is the largest city in Nebraska, with almost one million residents living in the metropolitan area. A wonderful place to work and live, it’s home to four Fortune 500 companies, including Berkshire Hathaway and Mutual of Omaha.
This city brought in 58 percent of the vote for the Republican party, and this no doubt had an influence on the statewide lean toward the conservative side. Political analysts cite faith-based values and small town living for the return to the red.
Conservative: Tulsa, Oklahoma
New Orleans is one of the southernmost ports along the Gulf of Mexico and is a major hub of activity into Latin America. Rich history, culture, and architecture make New Orleans a unique destination for traveling or settling down.
Surprisingly, this time around, New Orleans went to the conservative vote. With such a large representation showing up for Trump’s camp, it’ll be interesting to watch this political drama unfold in the near future.
Liberal: Los Angeles, California
Otherwise known as the “Oil Capital Of The World”, Tulsa has been an industry giant since its birth in the late 1800s. A city that is abuzz with culture, a thriving economy, and a temperate climate make it the perfect place to work, play, and live.
In keeping with sister city Oklahoma City, Tulsa heads up yet another portion of the conservative vote, with 65 percent of voters choosing to vote Republican in this last election. Future candidates will focus on gaining the loyalty and support that is a foundational piece of who these constituents are.
Conservative: Aurora, Colorado
Los Angeles is the largest city in California and home to several prominent businesses and institutions that favor the Democratic vote. After its incorporation in 1850, the discovery of oil brought rapid growth and industry to the area, and today it’s home to over 4 million people.
Los Angeles represented strongly in the polls this last election, with a large majority leaning Democratic. This progressive population no doubt significantly impacted California’s electoral vote as a whole, and with such a large influence over the state, it is likely that California will be favoring the blue for quite some time.
Liberal: Baltimore, Maryland
What started as a blossoming frontier town of farmers and ranchers has grown into Colorado’s third largest city, with almost 400,000 residents who enjoy its beautiful views, clean air, and plenty of economic opportunity.
While this last vote was a close one, the Democrats took the lead with 55 percent of the vote in Aurora; a number of other votes spread over minor candidates made this a close one in terms of popular vote.
Conservative: Lafayette, Louisiana
British colonists established the port of Baltimore to push out the incredible tobacco crops they were getting from local soil, and the city has since expanded to encompass a number of business and industry opportunities that keep Baltimore in a state of continual growth.
Baltimore residents took their Democratic vote with the majority; Biden took home nearly 65 percent of the vote and heavily influenced local political culture as well. These projections continue to lean toward the blue.
Liberal: Buffalo, New York
Lafayette is a sleepy little metropolis along the banks of the Vermillion river in Louisiana. A population of almost 500,000 people lean conservative in most elections, and this hub city boasts a low crime rate and a booming economy, which make it a very desirable place to live.
Lafayette ran close to its conservative roots this time around, bringing in 58 percent of the vote for the Republican party. This is evidence of their devotion to American traditions, a firm foundation of core values, and a commitment to strengthening our infrastructure and improving the economy, both city-wide and outward.
Conservative: Tyler, Texas
Buffalo was home to Native American Iroquois and later, settlers of French-Canadian descent. Access to fresh water and a fairly easy trade route made Buffalo a preferred choice for settlers looking to put down roots. Thriving culture and industry as well as strong educational institutions make this one of the premiere places to live in the United States.
Buffalo leans blue this time, with 52 percent of the vote going to Biden and other Democratic locals. This treasured town will continue to thrive in the midst of coming political changes, and will no doubt be a significant player in the elections to come.
Liberal: New York, New York
Named after the 10th president of the United States, John Tyler, this county seat is the largest city in Smith county with almost 100,000 residents. With unique boastings such as the largest rose garden in the country and an impressive 20,000 post-secondary students soaking up the delightful atmosphere, Tyler continues to thrive and expand even today.
Trump took home the win for this Smith county seat with 52 percent of the vote in 2020, which may not seem like a major win, but it’s electoral votes that matter. Texas was a huge win for him, and it is a strong representation of the strength of the conservative vote and the historic direction that Texans take for political influence.
Conservative: The Woodlands, Texas
The Big Apple, or New York, as it’s more commonly referred to, is the most densely populated city in the United States. Almost 302 square miles of urban sprawl house 20 million people, and their political affiliations are as varied as the genealogy of its residents.
With one of the closest elections in history now officially past us, it’s no surprise that New York residents participated in this close race with great loyalty for their preferred candidates. Will the residents come to fisticuffs in the years to come? Stay tuned for the type of fanfare that only New York residents can provide.
Liberal: Detroit, Michigan
The Woodlands is what you would call a designer community–pristine parks, crystal clear ponds and streams, and scenic skylines make this a very beautiful place to live. Founded in 1974, the city sits just north of Houston and boasts over 100,000 residents in this breathtaking little city.
Donnie does it again in The Woodlands; although his winning margin is slim, he does manage to take home the majority of the vote, making this one of the most beautiful conservative towns to live and work in.
Conservative: Knoxville, Tennessee
The city of Detroit is home to 4.3 million people, making it the second largest city in the Midwest behind Chicago. A number of industries and manufacturing enterprises keep Detroit residents afloat, and recent renovations of the educational system and infrastructure are attracting more and more residents each year.
Biden and Trump were neck and neck in this last election, with a fraction of the votes separating winner-elect from loser-elect. As the population continues to swell in the face of community improvements, Detroit is anybody’s guess when it comes to subsequent political innovations
Liberal: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Knoxville is an attractive city nestled at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, and in this city surrounded by natural beauty, it’s easy to envision yourself creating a life of breathtaking views, hopping social engagements, and rich culture.
Knoxville had a strong showing at the 2020 polls, with over 60 percent of the vote going to the Republicans, they’re surely proud of the traditions of the conservative party, and they aim to keep as many of them going strong as they can in the years to come.
Conservative: Frisco, Texas
Minneapolis is home to art, culture, a number of beautiful lakes, and some loyal liberals. This charming city set on the banks of the Mississippi river is home to several prominent industries, some diverse and culturally rich history, and it’s the perfect place to raise a family and celebrate the simple pleasures of life.
It was a close one this time around, with a narrow margin separating the Democrats and the Republicans. In the end, Biden’s camp pulled ahead with 52 percent of the vote, and the Republican population remains hot on their heels.
Liberal: Boston, Massachusetts
Frisco remains one of the fastest growing cities in America, with almost 200,000 residents registered as of the 2019 census. A prominent bedroom community for those who work in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, it has the best of work, play, and opportunity for those looking for long term growth and stability.
In keeping with many other Texas towns on this list, Frisco gave over the majority of its popular vote to the Republican party, claiming a spot on the conservative list of cities in America. They are part of the large Texas conglomeration making up this power state’s southern vote.
Conservative: Carrollton, Texas
Boston is a historically and culturally significant city in our country for many reasons. The birthplace of many of our political movements have created a strong and steady city that’s home to residents that take pride in their country.
A strong Democratic representation runs through the city of Boston, and with almost 70 percent of the vote going blue this time around, we acknowledge the strength and impact that this little corner of the world has on the political climate of our country as a whole.
Liberal: Oakland, California
Part of the Dallas/Fort Worth empire, the city of Carrollton Texas is a vibrant corporate and residential community, with many amenities and advantages to be had for residents and visitors alike. People are drawn to this scenic city for its quality of life, economic opportunity, and affordable cost of living.
Although this was a close one, Carrollton came in as conservative during the 2020 election, with 52 percent of the vote going to the Republicans. As our society prepares to switch hands, Carrollton residents are hopeful that the transition goes smoothly.
Conservative: Murfreesboro, Tennessee
With a population of 433,031 as of 2019, Oakland is a trade center for the San Francisco Bay area. The Port of Oakland is the busiest port in the San Francisco Bay, the entirety of Northern California, and the fifth busiest in the United States of America. An act of incorporation was passed on May 4, 1852, and it was approved on March 25, 1854, which gave it an official title of city. This sunny, beautiful city has attracted all kinds of people since its inception, and it continues to thrive today.
This city has represented the Democratic side in this recent election, with a strong 63 percent of the vote going to Biden. While we can’t be sure that this will continue to be the case, there’s plenty of blue representation that will continue to stand strong in the elections to come.
Liberal: Seattle, Washington
The citizens of Murfreesboro are proud of their picturesque community with an abundance of parks, clean residential areas, and plenty of opportunity to grow and thrive. This densely populated suburban city offers the best of the city in a pint-sized package, and it boasts the title of one of the “top 20 places to live in America”.
Aligning with their conservative history, Murfreesboro didn’t disappoint their loyal constituents this time, either. Over 60 percent of the vote went to the Republican party, and they are likely to continue voting Right as long as there is an option on the ballot.
Conservative: Chattanooga, Tennessee
A major port city and hub of activity in the Pacific Northwest, Seattle Washington is home to everything from Starbucks to the open-air market. Tepid climate, beautiful scenery, and quaint mountain towns mere minutes away from the downtown district make this a beautiful location to live and work.
Seattle came in a little on the blue side this past election, with almost 60 percent of the popular vote going to Biden. Whether they stay in this camp or move toward a more conservative choice remains to be seen, but regardless of political leanings, Seattle remains a very attractive place for young and old.
Liberal: Washington D.C.
Chattanooga is situated along the banks along the Tennessee river, also bordering Georgia. It’s a major transit hub for the state, being serviced by several prominent railroad companies and a number of interstate highways.
Like Texas, Tennessee has an impressive following on this list of more conservative cities; Chattanooga joins the game with 60 percent of the vote going to the conservative population. Whether it’s peer pressure or adherence to American tradition, it’s likely that they will show up red in the polls in the future.
Conservative: Scottsdale, Arizona
The Washington D.C. area is rich with history and culture; this city has been at the helm of our political system for ages and is likely a major player in any movement or election that is shaping our country at the time.
The Democrats took the landslide victory in this area of the country in the 2020 presidential elections; Democratic Joe Biden took home 93 percent of the vote, making the title of contender for anyone else a laughable affair. Will this political stronghold be persuaded to change their leanings anytime soon? Perhaps gaining equal representation across the House and Senate will help facilitate a more balanced vote.
Liberal: San Francisco, California
Named after its founder, Winfield Scott, Scottsdale has a reputation for being the fastest growing city in the Southwest. Part of the Phoenix/Tempe/Scottsdale metropolis, it’s been labeled as one of the most liveable cities in the U.S.
2020 was a close one for the residents of Scottsdale; the conservatives didn’t take the lead in this recent election, but it was close enough to keep us guessing as to what is coming ahead for this little corner of the country.
Conservative: Plano, Texas
The port of San Francisco, California, is located on a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. Known as one of the country’s most cosmopolitan cities, it boasts an impressive economic status, a rocking art and cultural scene, and plenty of entertainment for all to enjoy.
One of the more liberal areas on our list, San Fran residents voted almost 60 percent Democratic in this last election, this population will no doubt continue to cast a discriminating vote and contribute to the lively debate that our elections have turned out to be.
Liberal: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Plano Texas is a suburban community that sits approximately 20 minutes north of downtown Dallas. European settlers set up camp in the 1840s with simple attractions such as a mill, a gristmill, and a general store. Plano grew steadily until the eighties, when several large corporations moved to town and caused its population to swell suddenly into the tens of thousands.
The conservative vote squeaked out a win in the Plano area with 52 percent pulling ahead of the defeated Democrats. Such close statistics may bear further scrutiny as we continue to watch Plano’s political evolution unfold.
Conservative: Anchorage, Alaska
Pittsburgh is known for its strength; the steel industry is what keeps this thriving metropolis going, with over 300 steel businesses and manufacturing companies contributing to its annual revenue. Other innovations in technology, education and medicine make it the perfect place for those seeking advancement and opportunity for themselves and their families.
Although Pennsylvania is a red state statistically, it didn’t stop the residents of Pittsburgh from going true blue. Those urban areas tend to run Democratic in major cities, and we’ll likely see more representation from blue Pittsburgh residents in the future.
Liberal: Denver, Colorado
Anchorage is home to over 40 percent of Alaska’s total population. Beautiful scenery, a pristine location, and a thriving community of loyal residents make Anchorage a wonderful place to experience all that life has to offer.
This heavily populated city is home to a large conservative population; this was evident in the reports coming in from the 2020 polls, where 53 percent of the vote reflected Republican loyalty. The race was a little tighter than usual, but conservatism continues to rise to the top in this area of the country.
Conservative: Fort Worth, Texas
Denver, or the Mile-High City, as it’s more commonly called, is one of the most beautiful cities in the country. Home to nearly 4 million residents, it’s a western hub for travel, tourism, and commerce. Named in 2016 as one of the best places to live in the US, it continues to be a haven for satisfied residents and a shining jewel for tourists entering the Wild West.
Thanks again to the urban settlements in Colorado, the Democrats took the lead in this last election. Denver was no exception, as residents showed up at the polls and voted solid blue for their favorite candidates.
Liberal: Newark, New Jersey
The city of Fort Worth was originally established as an army base overlooking the Trinity river. With a population that has nearly doubled since 2000, it remains one of the fastest growing cities in the South.
Everything tends to be bigger in Texas, and the fight for the presidency is no exception. The battle was dramatic, but conservative won out; 52 percent of the vote went to the Republican party in the 2020 elections. Not surprising, as a number of Fort Worth’s neighbors leaned red during this time.
Conservative: Corpus Christi, Texas
Settled in the 1600s by Puritans looking for their freedoms, Newark remains one of the most influential air, shipping, and railroad hubs in the East. A number of higher education institutions, major corporations and business, and rich culture contribute to this city’s high quality of life and superior standard of living for its residents.
Newark took home the Democratic vote in the 2020 election this year; a close race continues to inspire these loyal liberals to rally support for their favored candidates. We’ll have to keep an eye on those New Jersey residents.
Liberal: Atlanta, Georgia
Corpus Christi is a coastal town on the southern edge of Texas. Its port business has drawn in almost 400,000 people who are year-round residents, and this sparkling jewel by the sea is home to rich historic, cultural, and economic offerings for all.
In keeping with other Texas towns, Corpus brought in the majority of the conservative vote this past year, with 52 percent of the residents making an impressive showing at the polls. They are part of the Texas communities that brought in a majority vote for this power state.
Conservative: San Antonio, Texas
Atlanta was born out of a necessity to create a state-funded railroad that would eventually move cross-country. Transportation across the deep South was what connected many farmers and manufacturers at this time, and Atlanta was the perfect place to create for business, home life, and leisure. It remains a southern power city to this day, with almost 3 million people making up the greater Atlanta area.
Thanks to the densely populated cities in Georgia like Atlanta, Savannah, Columbus, and Augusta, the Democratic vote pulled ahead by a very narrow margin in this last election. This state could go either way in the elections to come, as stats show that loyalties run strong on both sides of our political persuasion.
Liberal: Miami, Florida
San Antonio is the seventh largest city in the United States. Founded as a Spanish mission and colonial post way back in the 1700s, it’s known as one of the state’s oldest municipalities. Beautiful scenery, historic culture, and community and residential resources make this a very attractive place for those wishing to visit and those who wish to make this a permanent home.
The great state of Texas doesn’t disappoint–with many conservative constituents showing up at the polls this last November, they took the majority vote and further established Texas as a conservative state.
Conservative: Nashville, Tennessee
Miami is a booming metropolis located on the southeastern coast of Florida. It serves as the business and financial capital of Latin America, and residents of Miami foster close ties with their neighbors and friends toward the south. Sun, sand, surf, and nightlife are just a few of the things that make Miami an attractive place for year-round residents as well as tourists.
The entire area of Florida from Miami to West Palm Beach is liberal-loyal, and although other areas of Florida lean toward conservatism, they are likely to keep showing up at the polls and voting Democratic, as this has been a historic part of this city’s development and growth.
Liberal: Cleveland, Ohio
Nashville is a rich cultural hub of activity and home to some of the most artistic and musical professionals in our country. This capital of Tennessee is also home to numerous colleges and universities, as well as cutting edge medical and research facilities that are constantly innovating and improving life as we know it.
Nashville, with its rich community of thriving culture and commerce brought in the majority of the conservative vote this fall. We’ll continue to watch this thriving hub as they participate with great enthusiasm in the next election.
Conservative: Wichita, Kansas
Cleveland is the largest Ohio city nestled on the banks of Lake Erie, and it shares the maritime border with Canada. Also a port city, it was founded in the late 1700s by General Moses Cleaveland, and it grew into a major manufacturing hub for the Midwest. It continues to be a central hub of trade and communication for this area of the country to this day.
Cleveland, like many other urban communities in Ohio, leaned Democratic in this last election, but ultimately the conservatives took home the vote for Trump just weeks ago. As urban developments sprawl outward, it’ll be interesting to see how this impacts the political climate of Ohio.
Liberal: Kansas City, Missouri
Wichita is located in south-central Kansas along the Arkansas river; it originally started as a trading post for weary travelers along the Chisholm trail, and it’s morphed and grown into a thriving metropolis of almost 700,000 residents who live and work here.
It was a close one in Kansas this year, but the conservative vote took home the majority with 56 percent of the vote. In general, Kansas comes in as slightly more conservative than liberal, and with a bit of political upheaval currently happening, it’s anybody’s guess for 2024.
Conservative: Las Vegas, Nevada
Kansas City is the largest city in MIssouri by both population and by area. It was founded in the 1830s as a Missouri river port and trade hub for those coming in from the West. Residents of Kansas City’s greater metropolitan area make up a large portion of Missouri’s population, with nearly 2 million people living and working in this riverside city.
Although the city itself voted Democratic in 2020, it seems that they are surrounded by conservative supporters, as the state went to Trump in the November election. Better luck next time, KC.
Liberal: Honolulu, Hawaii
Las Vegas is an internationally renowned resort hub and oasis at the edge of the Mojave Desert. The Las Vegas valley as a whole serves an important role as the financial, cultural, and cultural center for greater Nevada.
Surprisingly, Las Vegas is more conservative than one might think; although they didn’t take the lead in this last election, the presidential vote was close enough to keep us guessing at what may happen in the near future. We’ll see who pulls ahead in 2024.
Conservative: Phoenix, Arizona
Honolulu means “calm port” in Hawaiian. This beautiful port city is a gateway to the Americas via the South Pacific, and high quality of living and lavish surroundings attract millions of tourists and loyal residents who enjoy crystal clear skies and pristine blue waters.
Honolulu is what you would call a clean sweep for the Democratic party. Nearly the entire state voted liberal this time around, with almost 70 percent of the vote coming in for the blue. This part of the country is unlikely to rescind their political leanings anytime soon, as they have one of their own coming from the great state of Hawaii.
Liberal: San Diego, California
The capital city of Arizona is home to nearly 2 million residents, and it’s the fifth largest city in the United States. Originally settled in 1867 as part of an agricultural center between the Salt and Gila rivers, it continues to serve the Valley of the Sun area through agricultural and industrial growth for the Southwest.
Despite its historically conservative stance, Phoenix conceded to the liberal vote this past fall with a very narrow margin. We continue to watch this area for votes that may go either way, and we value the rich experience and opinions that lend themselves to this thoughtful vote.
Conservative: Lexington, Kentucky
San Diego is a charming seaside town known for its mild year-round climate, beautiful beaches, and unique culture that blends the best of American and Mexican traditions. It was considered the first site on the west coast that was visited by Europeans and has been termed “the birthplace of America”.
San Diego tends to go Democrat, and they remained true to their values in the 2020 election, with the majority of their vote coming in for Biden’s camp. This part of the west coast runs from north to south, and they are part of the stronghold that remains liberal for many historic elections.
Liberal: Sacramento, California
Lexington is the second largest city in Kentucky, and home to Kentucky Horse Park, Keeneland racecourse and the Red Mile racecourse. The city has an amazing natural beauty, with rich farmlands and a booming tourist industry that feeds into the city’s economy and provides a great place to live and work.
Lexington has a very strong conservative presence and is evident with 62 percent of the vote going to Trump this time around. Perhaps it’s due to the large investment in the city’s infrastructure or adherence to conservative values, people in this area of the country continue to show up red at the polls.
Conservative: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Sacramento is the capital city of the U.S. state of California and the seat and largest city of Sacramento County. Resting at the apex of the Sacramento River and the American River in Northern California’s Sacramento Valley, Sacramento’s estimated 2019 residential total is nearly 500,000 people, making it the sixth-largest city in California.
Part of the Democratic conglomerate in California, they remain devoted to the blue; they brought in a significant number of votes for liberal policy, and they remain staunchly committed to seeing political change that could impact life for all Americans.
Liberal: Little Rock, Arkansas
Chartered in 1856 due to its proximity to the Big Sioux River, Sioux Falls remains a metropolis in an otherwise sparsely populated state. In fact, 300,000 residents living and working in Sioux Falls make up nearly 30 percent of the entire state’s population.
This significant portion of South Dakota’s population was enough to help the Republicans swing this state in favor of their candidate, Donald Trump in the 2020 election. Small town values and adherence to conservative traditions are a trademark of this part of the state and the country.
Conservative: Montgomery, Alabama
Little Rock arose from humble beginnings as a French fur trading post. Since then, it’s grown and become a cultural, economic, government, and transportation center for entry into the deep South. State government institutions, large corporations such as Amazon and Dillards, and other industry opportunities draw consistent growth into the area, and culture and community inspire would-be residents to stay.
Amidst a sea of conservative support, Little Rock arose strong and steady for the Democratic vote this time around. They refuse to yield to the pressure of the conservative way of life around them, and they continue their growth with vision and purpose for a progressive way of life.
Liberal: Montpelier, Vermont
Named for Richard Montgomery, this picturesque city sits along the banks of the Alabama river. It was incorporated in 1819 as a chain of smaller towns to produce another southern trade hub for the growing population in that area. Today, Montgomery is home to a number of large industrial companies, several military bases and institutions, and a high-quality education system that sustains a thriving economy.
